Services
The Primary purpose of MSHVFAS is to render Basic Life Support (BLS) to the Township of Millburn, and to neighboring communities as required, without regard to sex, race, color, or creed. In performance of the above, the Squad will:

-
answer emergency calls and render Basic Life Support (BLS) to the sick, injured or debilitated
-
transport residents (who medically require transportation by ambulance) to and/or from various institutions for medical treatment and care
-
strive to acquire and maintain the finest, most up-to-date equipment available
-
provide for the continuous teaching of and training in the most advanced and approved first aid practices and life-saving emergency medical techniques
-
aggressively pursue and foster safety consciousness throughout the community through the implementation of programs to encourage safety, reduce injuries and accidents and save lives
-
promote and spearhead improved coordination between the Squad and hospital’s emergency treatment of patients to facilitate improved patient care
-
generally engage in and carry on any and all functions and operations consistent with the foregoing
It will be the objective of the Squad to provide the above without charge either to the Township or the individual(s) involved.
Every squad member is qualified as an EMT. The squad provides certified instructors onsite at our squad building to teach this vital course. A great benefit of running our own program is that we can provide individual attention and be more flexible and respond to the needs of the students. Besides offering superior training skills, our in-house course builds teamwork and a sense of camaraderie and is reflected in the higher than average number of years members stay on our squad. Our training skills include:
-
EMT course
-
CPR
-
Automatic External Defibrillators
-
All medical and trauma emergencies
-
24-hour Emergency Medical Services to Millburn and its surrounding communities
-
Fully staffed Basic Life Support (BLS) crews that are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
-
Nonemergency ambulance transportation for Millburn residents
-
EMS coverage of community events (parades, football games, July 4th celebrations, etc.)
-
Available speakers to address civic groups, the community and schools
